Business Tools

Smart Receipt

Do you own a store or restaurant? Have you ever thought about how to make use of the receipts your customers get when purchasing your product or dining out?

Smart Receipt is a marketing tool that allows companies to add  messages, coupons, or messages to their purchase receipts and thus help bring customers back.

The downloadable software works with Windows, Linux, and MAC POS operating systems and many thermal printers. An added bonus is that there is the option to choose only certain stores, or locations, that will display the company’s messages on their receipts.

Productivity Tip: Evernote

Are you still carrying around a notebook or paper to remember important information? Evernote is a great application with which you can take notes on your computer, or your phone, then sync both.

Some of the features that I like are:

  • Add Web links and photos or documents from the Internet to your Evernote;
  • Create note links to other application, such as your calendar or post for organizational purposes, structure and connectivity of your notes;
  • Web Clipper is an add-on to your browser, and lets you save information from the Internet;
  • Keep your hobbies and activities organized.

And, from within Evernote, share on Social Media, or email your notes to anyone.

Do you, dear reader, use a tool, such as Evernote? What other uses have you discovered?

Productivity Tip: Teambox

I have been looking for an online Productivity tool, tried many of them, and finally settled on Teambox. It’s easy to use, intuitive, and keeps correspondence, project and task lists in one place.

I wanted to find a tool that is easy to use. Teambox provides each project with its own task list, pages, and conversations tab. There is also an area for uploading filel. Tasks can be assigned to each team member; their status is visible to all team members. All tasks can be viewed either across all projects, by the individual project, or by the owner of the task.

There is a free version for up to three projects that offers up to 50MB storage.

Are you using productivity or collaboration tools? Which ones have you tried? Which one did you settle on and why?

Out Of My Comfort Zone

Out of the blue, an invitation arrives for something that you have never done. Do you run? What are the thoughts whirling through your head, are you panicky, are you welcoming this chance?

I was invited to such an opportunity, to leap out of my comfort zone. I took it and agreed to be co-presenter in an interactive workshop. Together with Louise Veres, coach and founder of Living Your Best we will be talking about “Organizing Solutions For Your Well-Being.” We will show concrete tools and solutions to make changes that will have an impact on your whole life giving you space for what matters most.

Most of today’s business owners are stressed and don’t have enough time to do everything they need to do; there is no time for fun and play. Louise and I have put together easy to implement suggestions and solutions that help you create a more balanced life.

The event will be held at e-Spot in Oakville, ON on June 1, 2011. For details and registration please click here.
