Why Me

What makes me unique?

I just love what I do. I’ve been in the corporate administrative field for many years and was happy to say Good Bye to being under-valued, expected to work overtime on short notice, not being listened to …. you most probably have similar experiences.

So, one day I decided to start my own business; becoming a Virtual Assistant turned out to be the best decision I could have made. I LOVE my clients, the connections we create that culminates in our “really” working together as a team, on the same level, as equal partners in the relationship. What makes me enjoy my work so much is to help you overcome not only your physical, but also your mental overwhelm.

Here is what happens:

- You are excited to start working with me and gain more free time;
- Then, the realization sets in that now you need to hand over and let go of control;
- Anxiety sets in;
- I gently coach you through the anxiety, creating confidence and ease for you in the relationship. I understand where you are coming from.

Really? Yes! I see it often. And I admit, I love this point of our working relationship because it is an important step that strengthens our trust in each other. Guiding you through this phase and seeing you emerge with confidence makes my heart sing.

Facts

During the past years, I have traveled frequently, and am well-versed not only in taking my business with me, but in being efficient while away. I traveled on a boat for seven weeks, and I have been working from overseas; all without a glitch in performance.

I only work in long-term, and collaborative working relationships; I don’t take on project or piece work. I am a people person, timely, dependable, and deliver results.

What I love to do is jump right in, explore new tools, programs, play with them, and make them work.

In short, I take your pain away; I help you dream bigger.

In addition, should you have business connections in the German-speaking market, I am your perfect choice; and I speak Dutch very well.

I love exploring new tools, and am the co-leader of AssistUs Efficiency Tools Special Interest Group. This SIG connects AssistU members with monthly calls, in either conference call or webinar setting. Most of the time there is a guest speaker; mostly, but not exclusively, a member of our online community. The calls provide the attendees with the opportunity to learn of, and to explore new tools or practices. Being an active member of the AssistU community gives the VA access to great resources.

For the past two years, I have also been an active member of a local Toastmasters group. Attending the group’s meetings is teaching me public speaking and leadership skills, skills that I have an urge to learn to do better, and that are important to me in my business. I even added a twenty-week long writing course offered by WriteWellU, which took away my inhibitions about my writing skills. After that, becoming a Certified Practitioner of Neuro-Linguistic Programming in accordance with ABNLP (The American Board of Neuro-Linguistic Programming) standards and guidelines was a logical next step; I learned about how our thinking produces our behavior and how to connect and communicate in a better way. This tool is very helpful in the development of my practice..
